Frost & Sullivan Recognizes Pfizer as CSR Company of the Year in Community Health

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA - Media OutReach - April 27, 2015 - Pfizer has been awarded the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Company of the Year in Community Health by Frost & Sullivan in recognition of its determinations to educate Malaysian communities on health and wellness.

Ms. Sri Nur Hani Azran, Research Associate, Asia Pacific at Frost & Sullivan said that Pfizer was one of the pioneers in Malaysia to drive health and wellness awareness through its CSR programs.

 

She added that Pfizer's flagship project, Care-A-Van, has been going around to semi-urban, rural and remote areas to offer medical accessibility and conduct free health screening to the less fortunate in partnership with the area's community organizations. As of today, Care-A-Van has screened more than 120,000 Malaysians in more than 500 locations, including Sabah and Sarawak.

 

Ms. Hani said that the objective of Care-A-Van is to address the gap in the healthcare system and raise the level of health literacy in the country. Care-A-Van is more than just a free mobile health screening as it also involves doctors and healthcare professionals giving talks on various issues such as health, nutrition and hygiene.

 

She added that Pfizer has a holistic approach in contextualizing its CSR programs, which includes the workplace, marketplace, community, and environment as the variables in the equation.
